2019/2020 Season Under 15s Div 1 Recap
The 2019/20 season ended in unusual fashion with the Grand Final cancelled due to Covid-19, but Broadbeach Robina’s Under 15s had already done enough to finish 1st on the ladder and be crowned Division 1 Premiers. The Cats recorded 3 wins from 4 games, finishing with 37.47 points to top the competition.
It was a standout season with the bat for Lachy Aitken, who piled on 142 runs at a perfect average of 142, never dismissed across his innings. His consistency made him the 3rd highest run-scorer in the league. Reef Webb also enjoyed a strong campaign, contributing 73 runs at 24.33, finishing 5th overall in the division’s run tally.
With the ball, Luke Franks led the attack brilliantly, claiming 7 wickets at an average of just 8.57, regularly breaking partnerships and applying pressure.
Although the pandemic meant the players missed their chance to contest the Grand Final, their performances across the season ensured the Cats were deserving 2019/20 Premiers — a campaign built on batting dominance, sharp bowling, and consistency week in, week out.
