Under 14’s – Grand Final Recap
Broadbeach Robina’s Under 14’s delivered a commanding performance in the Grand Final at South Oval, defeating Surfers Paradise Red by a massive 121 runs to claim the premiership.
Batting first, Broady piled on an impressive 221 from 46.4 overs, thanks to a superb innings from Jovi Allan (84 off 85 balls, 9 fours, 2 sixes) at the top of the order. He was well supported by Douglas Cowan (35) and Dushyant Thaman (28), while Benjamin Reeves (28 not out)* held the innings together late. The strong contributions right through the batting card ensured a total well beyond par.
With the ball, Broadbeach Robina were ruthless. Jackson Robson (3/18 off 9 overs) and Jett Casperson (3/5 off 5 overs) tore through the Surfers’ line-up, while Tyler Sperling, Adam Davis and Finn O’Meara all chipped in with wickets. The pressure never eased as Broady bowled out their opponents for just 100 in 48 overs, backed by sharp fielding and safe hands in the field.
It was a complete team effort – powerful batting, disciplined bowling and tidy fielding – that sealed an emphatic 121-run victory. The Under 14’s showed class and composure on the big stage to be crowned Grand Final champions.
