Under 13 Division 2 – Grand Final Recap
Broadbeach Robina’s Under 13 Division 2 side lifted the premiership trophy after a strong performance in a two-day Grand Final against Mudgeeraba Red, securing victory with both bat and ball.
Mudgeeraba struggled first up, bowled out for just 55 runs in their first innings thanks to a disciplined Broady bowling attack. In reply, Broadbeach built patiently to post 105, with Jack Glynn (24 not out)* holding the innings together, supported by Billy Payne (18) and John Cleverly (9). Extras also played a big role, adding 40 valuable runs to the total.
Needing to fight back, Mudgeeraba made a better effort in their second innings but could only reach 5/67 before the match was called, leaving Broadbeach Robina as deserved Grand Final winners.
It was a true team performance, with the bowlers setting up the win early, and the batters showing resilience to build a lead big enough to close out the game. The result capped off a terrific season and showcased the strength and determination of the club’s junior talent.
