Under 13 Division 1 – Grand Final Recap
Broadbeach Robina’s Under 13 Division 1 side capped off their season in style, claiming the premiership with a hard-fought 14-run victory over Coomera White.
Batting first, Broady reached 138 from 49.5 overs. The innings was anchored by a brilliant knock from Jem Williams (51), who held the top order together with patience and composure. Bodie Potter (19) and Bailey Egen (12) provided valuable support, while 24 runs in extras gave the Cats a competitive total in what proved to be a low-scoring contest.
Defending 138, Broadbeach produced a superb all-round bowling performance to dismiss Coomera for 124. Lachy Aitken (4/7 from 6.5 overs) was the standout, tearing through the batting order with precision. Jovi Allan (2/5 from 7 overs) delivered an exceptional spell of control, while Tom Kennedy (1/17), Jamie Legg (1/18) and Bailey Egen (1/4) all chipped in. Backed by sharp fielding — including two run outs and key catches — the Cats held their nerve in a tense finish.
It was a victory built on grit and teamwork, with Williams’ half-century setting the tone and Aitken’s inspired bowling sealing the deal. The result saw Broadbeach Robina crowned Under 13 Division 1 Premiers after a memorable Grand Final.
