Under 13 Division 1 – Grand Final Recap
Broadbeach Robina’s Under 13 Division 1 side produced a gritty performance to claim the premiership with an 18-run win over Palm Beach Currumbin Gold in a tense Grand Final.
Batting first, Broady worked their way to 119 from 43.4 overs. Dominic Santer (20) and Darby Scott (14) provided early resistance, while Isaac Jones (25 not out)* held the innings together with a composed knock under pressure. Contributions from Cullin Cooper-Jones (10) and Zachary Smith (8), along with 15 extras, ensured the Cats posted a total just shy of 120.
Defending 119, the Cats’ bowlers stepped up with a disciplined display to dismiss Palm Beach for 101 in 49 overs. Matthew Manley (3/8 from 5 overs) delivered the decisive spell, supported by Jack Kann (2/18). The pressure was shared across the attack, with Isaac Jones, Antonio Serci, Zachary Smith and [Unnamed Bowler] each taking a wicket. Backed by safe hands in the field, Broadbeach built pressure and never let Palm Beach settle.
It was a classic low-scoring final, where every run mattered, and Broadbeach Robina’s resilience with bat and ball carried them to a memorable 18-run Grand Final triumph and the Under 13 Division 1 Premiership.
