Over 40s Division 1 – Grand Final Recap
Broadbeach Robina capped off another strong season with a composed 8-wicket win over Coomera Hope Island White in the Over 40s Division 1 Grand Final.
Coomera batted first and were restricted to 8/111 from their 40 overs, as the Cats’ bowlers kept a tight leash throughout the innings. Neil Boston (2/16) and Robbie Hayes (2/9) struck early, while Vince Serci (2/11) and Ted Sheehan (1/23) ensured the pressure never lifted. Backed by sharp fielding and consistent line and length, Broadbeach never let Coomera settle into partnerships.
Chasing 112 for victory, the Cats were steady and professional. After the early loss of Craig Sinclair (16), Vince Serci (50 retired)* anchored the innings with a fluent half-century. He was well supported by *Neil Christie (31)**, guiding the team home in 34.4 overs for a comfortable win.
It was a complete performance from Broadbeach Robina, with disciplined bowling, tidy fielding and assured batting sealing an 8-wicket Grand Final triumph.
