6th Grade – Grand Final Recap
Broadbeach Robina’s 6th Grade side capped off their season in style, claiming the premiership with a commanding 8-wicket Grand Final victory over Runaway Bay at North Oval.
Bowling first, the Cats produced a disciplined and clinical performance to dismiss Runaway Bay for just 95 in 33.3 overs. The attack was led by J Richards with 4/14, while Harry Fleet (3/26) and Gurdev Mehta (1/11) kept the pressure on with tight spells. Contributions from Brendon Sheldrick (1/10) and David McGain (1/0) ensured that every bowler played their part. The fielding was just as sharp, with seven catches taken across the team.
Chasing a modest target, Broady cruised to victory, reaching 2/99 in only 19.2 overs. Lincoln Clark (27 off 28 balls) set the tone early with an aggressive knock, while Michael Kerr (27 off 48)* anchored the chase. The finishing touches came from *Zac Wilkinson (33 off 23 balls)**, who blasted four sixes to seal the premiership in style.
It was a comprehensive team performance — disciplined bowling, sharp fielding, and dominant batting — that secured an emphatic 8-wicket win and crowned Broadbeach Robina as the 6th Grade Premiers.
