3rd Grade – Season Recap & Semi Final Win
Broadbeach Robina’s 3rd Grade side enjoyed a fantastic season, finishing 2nd on the ladder with 11 wins, 3 losses, and the 2nd-best net run rate in the league. Unfortunately, the Grand Final was washed out, denying the Cats a shot at the premiership despite their strong campaign.
They had already proven their finals credentials in the Semi Final against Tamborine, where a disciplined team effort secured victory.
With the ball, Reece McDonald (3/9 off 8 overs, 4 maidens) was outstanding, backed by Vince Serci (3/20) and Andrew Sandilands (2/32), as Tamborine were dismantled by relentless pressure. In the field, catches were shared around, with Scott Robson, Joel Kennan, Dylan Petersen, and Jesse Keegan all contributing.
In reply, the Cats chased down the target with contributions across the board. Reece McDonald (42 off 39 balls) continued his stellar season with a fluent knock, supported by Scott Robson (18 off 15) and Dylan Petersen (19 off 21). Late runs from Shane Davis (8 not out)* and Jesse Keegan (7 not out)* guided the team home to a safe finish.
