Club History

The Broadbeach cricket club was formed in July 1990.  In our very first season in what was then known as the Gold Coast Cricket Association we entered senior teams in 2nd and 3rd grade and junior teams in the U10, 12 and 14 age groups...

We were fortunate enough to win the second grade premiership in only our second year in the competition.

Fast forward 30 years and our club now boasts 6 senior teams,  2 over 40’s teams and 13 junior teams from under 10 master blasters all the way up to the under 17 age group..

In our formation years we did not enjoy the facilities we have today, our 2nd grade side played all of their home games on a turf wicket at Palm Beach and our 3rd grade side and our juniors played on a canvas matting wicket at our beloved Merrimac Oval..

In 1992, however, we were provided with a brand new turf wicket at Merrimac Oval which allowed us to enter a team in first grade.

We are proud to say we now have some of the best training, changeroom and playing facilities in South East Queensland...

In 1996 to counter the huge population surge of the adjoining Robina suburb and to ensure the growth of our club, the name of the club was changed to the Broadbeach Robina Cricket Club.

As we near our 30 year anniversary as a club, we are very proud of many things, particularly our on field success.

We have won multiple lower grade premierships which includes our over 40's team, and our premier first grade team has won 4 premierships which have all been won in the decade 2010-2020 and incredibly they have not missed a finals series in this period...

When we add all of our senior premierships up as one, they total 15 which is a winning ratio effectively of one premiership every two years...

Our junior record is outstanding, proudly boasting over 20 premierships collectively...

The Broadbeach Robina Cricket club is a progressive forward thinking organization that strives for continual improvement...
